We lived for a couple years in Sydney Australia and we were able to explore many of Australia’s excellent wine regions. We took frequent trips to the Hunter Valley, Mudgee, Canberra, and the Southern Highlands which are all within a few hours of Sydney. We also spent time in Barossa Valley where many of the most famous Australian wines are from.
Australia has some really big red wines and many of them seem to have a hint of eucalyptus on the finish, which is not surprising given the eucalyptus trees present in many of these areas. We also enjoyed spotting more than a few kangaroos. In Canberra after dusk it almost seemed like a kangaroo invasion!
