The city of Beaune in the heart of Burgundy is a 3 hour drive from our home in Zurich and for wine lovers this destination is a must.

Burgundy has a special “terroir” comprised of a patchwork of small properties each with a unique microclimate. Some of these legendary sites are among the most expensive and cherished vineyards in the world and holy ground for Pinot Noir fans.

Burgundy represents “Old World” Pinot which tends to have a different and earthier character than “New Word” (e.g, Australia, USA, New Zealand) Pinot Noirs. The aromatics are dramatic and complex while the texture of this wine is velvety and smooth.

We should mention as well that the food in and around Burgundy is also fantastic, especially when paired with the wine!
